Cynthia Erivo (London, 1987) is a theater singer and actress, well known to be the main interpreter in Sister Act at Broadway and London theaters. In 2013 she interpreted Celie in The Color Purple alongside with Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson gaining a Tony Award, Theatre World Award, Drama Desk Award and an Outer Critics Circle Award as best musical protagonist and a Grammy Award for her theater music album. In 2018 she debuts in Cinema with Bad Times at the El Royale and Windows, directed by Steve Mc Queen, thanks to which she received a candidature for the Orange Rising Star Award.
