Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter (born 1981) is an American singer-songwriter, dancer, actress and entrepreneur. She is one of the world's best-selling recording artists, having sold over 200 million records worldwide. She began her career as a founding member of the girl group Destiny’s Child. In 2003 she achieved great success as a soloist. Her success during the 2000s was recognized by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA)'s Top Certified Artist of the Decade and Billboard's Top Female Artist of the Decade. Billboard named her Female Artist of the Decade 2000-2010. Beyoncé is also an actress and fashion designer: she created her own fashion line, the House of Deréon, and her own perfume line.
